When a child's world is disrupted, learning cannot wait.
Around the world, millions of children are growing up in settings shaped by conflict, displacement and humanitarian crisis. For these children, access to education and safe, supportive environments is not guaranteed. It is fragile, interrupted and often absent. The LEGO Foundation believes that a child's right to learn does not disappear in a crisis. It becomes more urgent.
Our approach
We fund programmes that protect and restore children's access to learning in humanitarian settings, working with partners who operate where the need is greatest. Our focus is on continuity: keeping children connected to education even when systems around them have broken down, and helping those systems recover and strengthen over time.
We do not work alone. Our partners are organisations with deep experience in humanitarian response, early childhood development and education in crisis-affected contexts.
We bring long-term funding and evidence. They bring operational capacity, local knowledge and the relationships that make sustained work possible in the hardest places.
Our funds are designed to scale. We prioritise approaches that are proven, replicable and able to reach more children over time, because the scale of need demands it.
