The LEGO Foundation's goals and values are not a set of principles we separate from our work. They are the reason for the choices we make: which partners we work with, where we focus our resources, and how we measure whether our efforts are making a positive impact.
Every child deserves a childhood.
We exist to improve outcomes for children, focusing on their wellbeing, their ability to learn and grow, and their physical, emotional and cognitive development. This ambition guides the grants we make, the partnerships we build, and every decision about how we put our energy and resources to work.

We focus where we can make the most difference.
We work with a select group of large, long-term partners. We find that depth of commitment produces better outcomes for children than just breadth of activity. When we choose to work with a partner, we commit fully, bringing not just funding but sustained engagement, shared learning and a genuine stake in what we are trying to achieve together.

We follow the evidence.
We fund approaches that have a strong body of evidence. And when an idea is promising, but evidence is limited, we help build it. Every investment we make is expected to be measurable, and we aim to share what we learn openly so others can benefit. This focus on evidence ensures we are investing in what truly works for children.

We work in partnership.
We work alongside partners who are closest to children's lives, in Denmark and around the world. We bring funding, knowledge and long-term commitment. Our partners bring expertise, proximity and trust. Together, we can build solutions that scale and last.

We are ambitious on behalf of children.
The challenges children face, from conflict and crisis to exclusion and inequality, are not small problems. We pursue solutions that can grow, reach more children and endure beyond any single grant cycle, because that is what the scale of the challenge demands.

We are part of something larger.
The LEGO Foundation is a Danish enterprise/corporate foundation and a part of the LEGO Ecosystem alongside the LEGO Group and its majority owner, KIRKBI.
Our philanthropic mission is made possible by the commercial success of the LEGO Group, and as a 25% owner of the Group, we take that stewardship seriously. We are guided by a founding principle of the LEGO Ecosystem: only the best is good enough, especially when it comes to children.
