Defining Systematic Creativity in the Digital Realm

Digital technologies are changing the ways in which we play, learn and create. In 2008 the LEGO® Learning Institute conducted a foundational research study in partnership with academic experts to define how the LEGO® System in Play supports systematic creativity and learning.




In the second study, Defining Systematic Creativity in the Digital realm, conducted in 2009, the LEGO Learning Institute experts explore what creativity is in the digital realm, what it is like to grow up digital and how the digital realm is influencing how children play, learn and create.

Furthermore the report delves into what the similarities and differences are between physical and virtual — as well as 'analogue' and digital - play, learning and creativity. The study outlines what the role of systems and platforms are in supporting play, creativity and learning and how blending the physical and digital LEGO® idea enables systematic creativity through immersive play, learning and creative experiences for children of all ages.
