Re-imagining Learning In Partnership With Ashoka
The learning through play network is growing with 632 entries submitted in our Changemaker Challenge.
When the submission deadline for our Re-imagine Learning Challenge was reached in late June, 632 entries had been submitted to the competition, representing impact in 63 countries across five continents.
There are several common innovation patterns in the submitted projects – from the motivation to tackle the barrier of whole child development being undervalued to solutions designed to put children in charge. Children ages 6-12 are the most common target audience, followed by ages 3–5 and ages 13–17, and most of the projects offer solutions through a curriculum, followed by extra-curricular programmes and childcare interventions.
Entrants enjoy feedback from peers, the opportunity to strengthen their submissions and to join and participate in the network. To date, entrants and site users generated more than 2,000 reviews on each other's projects, sharing comments on both strengths and areas for improvement.
The LEGO Foundation is providing cash prizes to 10 Champions who will showcase their innovations at the 2015 LEGO IDEA Conference. The Challenge will bring new members into our network, help map the landscape of innovative programmes around the world that use learning through play, and will help us identify patterns and trends in this sector.
